Meet Dr. Laura Banks-Reed.
Laura is a biographical documentary about 98-year-old, Dr. Laura Banks-Reed. She is an African-American woman that began her life honoring education. She got her start as a student at Dunbar school, a segregated school in Tucson, AZ in 1927. Laura became a teacher at Dunbar, then the Principal, she fought a racial war in court to become the Superintendent. If That wasn’t enough, she was the first African American woman to graduate with honors at The University of Arizona with a Doctorate in Education in1947. She has created an amazing life as an educator, leader and philanthropist, she even has schools named after her! She has a massive life we hope to honor in this short documentary.
